There are black women --inventors, educators, aviators,etc., who have made inroads in the world. Then there are women who may never make the headlines but they are have made the headlines in our lives.

What seems to get under my skin is that there is music that promotes degrading black women (and men) and some black women/men have bought into it (Let's leave the "b" word for female dogs and the "h" word to the garden tool.

It is a great way to earn a living! The pay is great! I am now in Radio. Now I have the opportunity to be a Voice in the community. I also have had the opportunity to work with the industries best! I have met a few entertainers here and there I am also grateful to have my own Non For Profit Organization called Kendra Cares Inc. Injustice within our own system!

So here’s my dilemma! The student government is now conducting a gathering for the students of KKC to get to know each other, become aware of the different clubs, and organizations, and just to have some positive, safe, clean, fun I guess. Anyway I stood in line to get some food that was being given out (Hot Dog, Chip, and soda). I get to the front of the line and I was told I needed a KKC I.D. to receive anything from this event. I didn’t have my I.D., but hey I follow rules so I politely moved to the side. Meanwhile I was waiting on my friend to finish up at the food stand, a young lady walked up without her I.D. and I overheard the coordinator Alicia Thomas tell her to go ahead. She was then allowed to get food without an I.D. Now that I’m not okay with, because she told me no matter who you are you need some form of KKC I.D. I then approached her and let her know how I felt about it and she still told me I couldn’t get anything without I.D. I then asked for her name and affiliation with S.G.A. and came directly to the computer lab to share with the class. I am very upset because I was just a victim of injustice and it hurts even more that it was from the organization that represents the Student Body (US). I was hungry yall……LOL!!!!! I just wanted to get that off my chest because it definitely changed my day! Am I over exaggerating?

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society For Two Year Colleges

Hi! my name is Kendra Crawford. I am Phi Theta Kappa! Being a part of the International Honor Society definitely has it's benefits! Not only am I recognized as being one of the best because of my academic excellence, but i am rewarded constantly for my great achievements. I was chosen to attend the 92nd annual Phi Theta Kappa Convention in Orlando Florida! Wow! What a treat! Myself and other members were flown to Florida and stayed in the beautiful Disney World Resort where we spent four days soaking in the sun and fun! Oh I forgot to mention that we were given some spending cash? We met other Phi Theta Kappans from all over the world! Yes, there was a lot to learn to bring back and share with our college and community. Take a look for your self!

Just Say the Word!!!

Hello Everyone,

This is your classmate Shawn and just in case you were not aware, I am also the Vice- President of the Student Government Association here at KKC. Please feel free to speak to me about questions, problems, concerns, ideas, and feedback you may have about KKC campus issues. Remember we are all in this school together and it will take all of us to make the changes we need.

But however, my topic of the day is the lack of MEANINGFUL intimate relationships. It seems in today's society people do not value or respect committed relationships or marriage. For example, the video I included in my blog illustrates my point (although I must admit it is one of my all time favorite Donnell Jones song).

Donnell in this song is talking to a young lady that has caught his attention in a club and he lets her know in no uncertain terms that he wants to spend time with her, have fun, and even sex and that is all. As a matter of fact the lyrics can speak for themselves: " No relationships involved , gotta keep it strictly physical." He doesn't care that she is in a committed relationship because all he wants is sex. In no means am I the morality police and anyone who knows me understands that. If you are not in a serious committed relationship, both parties are legal consenting adults, and understands the tone of the relationship, then by all means have responsible fun. But blatantly disregarding a committed relationship is causing a breakdown of meaningful relationships and leaving many people jaded and tainted.

THIS IS THE ISSUE THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!

This is a issue that pisses me off -- people talking and texting on the phone. A lot of accidents are caused by people texting or talking on the phone. It's people who are in these luxury cars and feel that hey can do what they want. So they'll be on the phone and then when a accident happens they wanna look at you like it was your fault. Even when people on the block be blocking the lane because they either talking on the phone or texting and they get mad when u beep yo horn. You have people who get on the expressway switching lanes thinking they doing it. Driving texting just multi-tasking in general. Thats how people lose there lives because of people multitasking. BOTTOM LINE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING A LIFE BE RESPONSIBLE BEHIND THE WHEEL PERIOD!!!!!

Too much shooting in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood

There is violence everywhere in Chicago. Lately there has been more violence in the Englewood neighborhood. There has been to many shooting going on leaving people shot or dead. There have been innocent kids losing there lives just because it easy to pick up gun and shoot. If people keep picking up guns there is not going to be a good future for our children growing up. We need to stop all this shooting especially in the Englewood neighborhood. We need a future. Put the guns down Englewood and think about our children.

Here is a video on YouTube that I find supporting all the shooting in Englewood. This video shows how easy it is to pick up a gun. These people have no respect for the police they even fires gunshots at the police.

So I was in the school's cafeteria the other day, and some chubby dude walked pass my table with half his butt hanging out...can we say re-gur-gi-tate. It's not that he was chubby, it's that I had that much more sloppy butt to imagine on my plate. What's the truth about this saggin' trend?

Many people respect Lady Gaga for who she is and what she does, others do not. She's been called a Madonna wannabe, a prostitute, and even a man. Granted people are entitled to their on opinion, so here's mine. True Lady Gaga could be the Madonna of our time however, she expresses herself in her own way (you can tell by her clothes). She is a big human rights advocate. For example, Lady Gaga was contacted by big time rappers, including Kanye West, to cancel her concert and boycott the state of Arizona because of the new immigration law. Gaga refused saying, "I will not cancel my show. I will hold you, and we will hold each other and we will protest this state." Though she is great with technical music, Lady Gaga is a great musician. She plays piano as well as many other instruments. Gaga is a wonderful singer. She also won 8 well deserved Moon Men at the 2010 MTV VMA, including Best Female and Dance Video. True she's different, but she is exactly what we need in today's society of repeated music. She's an international pop star. Be brave try something new. So when thinking about what to call her...CALL HER GAGA! She deserves it.

TRACY T.'s RELATIONSHIP CIRCLE: "Are You Ready For Some Football, LADIES?!"

...well you better get ready girls, cuz YOUR MAN sure is! Let him have his free time, his moment, his zone. You drag him along in the malls and grocery stores with you, he lets you have first pick of what to watch on television, where to eat and what music you want to hear in the car, allow him to have his time watching THE GAME.

Take it A STEP FURTHER by encouraging him to invite his friends over. Shut your MOUTH and open the FRIDGE!!! Grab him a beer, some ranch dip and some hot wings out the freezer, put em' on 5 minutes in the microwave and serve him. You will see what a difference this makes in your relationship. Oh, and don't even think about going into the other room, getting on the phone and chatting it up with your girl; you HAVE A SEAT right next to him and get into the game. He will become more attracted to you and appreciate you more.

Keep Women (AND Men) Out of the Locker Room!!

One of the big stories in sports last week was the alleged treatment of TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz by players of the New York Jets.  She gives her take on the incident during this interview with Fox News New York:

I don’t condone offensive behavior directed at anyone, especially females, in a football locker room.  But the whole situation is related to a question I have had for years:  why are ANY reporters allowed to interview athletes in their locker room while they are fresh out of the shower, semi- or even completely nude?!  I don’t care if they are male or female, if I was a pro athlete and I had a vote, I would make it a team rule that reporters are not to have access to players at least 20 minutes after the end of a game, so we could have a chance to get decent!  Just imagine if you have a friend over waiting for you to get ready for you guys to go out to a party.  You are drying off after your shower and he/she busts in on you to ask you a question!  You would probably be like, “…umm…ask me about that when I get outta here, fool!”  So I imagine a lot of athletes don’t like that easy access.  Now I stress men AND women reporters should stay out…but back to our friend Ines, I think she sets back the gains female reporters have made over the years.  She’s knowledgeable enough, but has a reputation for being a “fake reporter”- that is, she’s has no interest in maintaining the more conservative, professional image that most feel is needed for women in such a testosterone-driven industry.  There are plenty of attractive, knowledgeable sports reporters in the industry that know how to use at least ONE button on her blouse during an interview with Fox News.  And they would NEVER provide this kind of material to float all over the internet about them…

So what do you think, people…should the players shut up and let the reporters get those interviews quick and meet those deadlines, or wait awhile for decency?  And should female reporters have to go out of their way to dress down on the job?  I say WAIT, and DRESS DOWN!!!  Talk to me!!

I've also have been told on many occasions that I have a big personality and that I should have my own show. So I bought into the idea and have started to hone this so called talent. So far I have learned to write, shoot and edit my own footage. I covered the Bud Billiken Parade for the last few years and got to interview some prominent Chicago figures, Such as Chicago Mayor Daley, Doug Banks and many more. Well here's a situation i actually experienced, I met a woman that sparked my interest and we talked over the phone for a few days. At first i was just intended to be casual friends but the more time we spent together on the phone i became more interested in her vibe. As the next day came along we where communicating threw text heavily and really enjoying each other. we both had asked each other why we were single and had similar reasons somewhat..long story short, i went over her house and we chilled and had a nice time. now the thing is i never told her my real name just to be cautious because of previous situations..after she found out my real name and got mad and said if i lied about that i would lie about everything else..i tried to work it out but it shattered. So what do you feel..let me know?

Tracy T.'s RELATIONSHIP ISSUE!

Let me give you a little back story. I attended the Cincinnati Music Fest this past July. While we were there, we attended some parties, (which were the bizness btw). So we requested for bottle service and boy did those bottles go quick! Here's the issue, "someone I know" boyfriend summoned the cocktail waitress and when she approached him he grabbed her hand and started rubbing it while he was ordering the other bottle. When I informed her of this issue she simply said he's just flirting, it's ok! HUH??? NO IT'S NOT OK!!!
